Charley Harper's playful portrayals of wild and domestic creatures have long delighted art and animal lovers alike. Harper (American, 1922-2007) expressed the essence of each critter, from songbirds to zoo babies to rascally raccoons, with his distinctive use of simple shapes and patterns in vivid colors. Many of his paintings and posters have been published by nature- and conservation-oriented organizations.
